Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington, Inc.
The Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington, Inc. (MSCW) is an association of Mazda automobile owners. Membership is open to all Mazda owners, regardless of which model you own. MSCW was founded in 1980 as the Rx-7 Sportscar Club of Washington with the goal of “increasing the enjoyment of owning and operating Mazdas, through the sharing of information and experience of its members.” By the mid 80′s many of the original owners purchased other Mazda models in addition to their Rx-7s and our events became reflective of all Mazda models. Since then we have been a Mazda marque club with membership open to all Mazda vehicle owners. In 1990, we also added the Capital Chapter of the Miata Owners Club and renamed ourselves to encompass the Mx-5 Miata and other Mazdas. Owners of all Mazda models are encouraged to join in order to share in the camaraderie, driving events, social gatherings, discounts, and technical expertise within our organization
VA Rides
Our Mission Founded in 2010, VA Rides is here to provide the best car scene in Virginia. We strive to keep you up to date with the latest shows, meets, track days, dyno days, and cruises, as well as provide a centrally located event of our own. Our History VA Rides was founded in April 2010 by Josh Lyall with plans of providing a centrally located event for all car enthusiasts to meet. The American Indoor Karting Meet was created and remained open for half the summer until Virginia Rides joined forces with Rev-X to strengthen and expand the Virginia car scene. When the American Indoor Karting Meet was started, Jeff Blake came on developing the Facebook Page for VA Rides. Jeff had a vision of VA Rides being not just a car meet, but an automotive community bringing people together from all around Virginia. He utilized the Facebook page to keep everyone up to date on local events as well as plan VA Rides’ events, provide photo coverage of events, etc, and the page has grown considerably. Our Future In 2011, VA Rides branched away from Rev-X and has landed it’s own meeting spot in an ideal location thanks to the hard work of Jeff Blake. He organized the VA Rides Car Meet at Quaker Steak and Lube in Fredericksburg at 7PM every Saturday and, with the support of QS&L, it has been very successful. VA Rides plans to grow exponentially and bring new things to our awesome community of automotive enthusiasts.
